I got a Grant!

Yay! I went grant application mad and applied everywhere. One came up trumps. Money for a trip to Annaghmakkerig and some tickets for writing events but mostly money for time to write. And I will. Oh the bliss.

  1. Great news! Congratulations! Now I'm rubbing your blog for luck, because I'm about to put in an application myself for a residency that I would love just too, too much; if I get it I might burst from joy. If I don't I'll cry.

    Typical.

Anyhow, enjoy your writing and traveling and more writing!

Who did you apply to for the grant? Annaghmakkerig looks so lovely. I have regular daydreams about going there to write.

  11. congrats.. shock or not you deserve it IMHO, and I agree with everyone else it's nice to see money flowing in the correct direction for a change. Grant applications - IMHO the only form of writing that blocks almost every writer I know... there should be awards just for finishing those applications.

  13. Thanks everyone for your comments and particularly welcome to new commenters/readers. There is a big element of lottery with grant applications, that's for sure. I applied to my local co co. I love AMK and aim to go there two separate weeks a year for creative re-energising. It's a very special place.

  14. This is *such* great news. I won't say I'm not envious because I am. After last years slew of rejections I thought I'd never bother again!

But I'm SO glad you got one!
