The maximum length of composition for poetry submissions is
now 100 lines (previously 60), while prose and short stories submissions
of up to 1,000 words (previously 300) will also be accepted.
Cash prizes, crystal trophies and certificates will be awarded to runners-up in various categories including National Poetry Winner, National Prose Winner, National Short Story Winner together with an award for a Highly Commended entry among any of the poetry, prose, short story entries. A prize will also be awarded in a special category for National Schools.
The
theme for this year's competition is open - entries will be accepted on
any theme, topic or subject. The Ger Hanily Memorial Cup, which forms
part of the Awards, will be awarded to the best entry received on the
theme of Coman's Wood.
The overall prize winner will receive a publishing
package deal from The Manuscript Publisher, valued at €1,000.

announced at the SiarScéal Festival, which takes place on Saturday, 25
October at Roscommon Library in Roscommon Town.
