House Studios, the Creel Restaurant, The Gallery press and Poetry
Ireland are pleased to present a poetry reading by Gerald Dawe from his
recently published Selected Poems.
Thursday June 7th 2012 at 8.00pm.
The
evening will also include guest readings from Gerald Dawe’s Selected
Poems by Susan Kelly, Thomas Kilroy, Seán Lysaght, John McHugh, and Ger
Reidy, with music by Laoise Kelly(Harp).
Free Admission.
Spanning over thirty-five years, in poems that move through Irish city
and country life – Belfast, Galway, Dublin – to Italian and Polish
landscapes and the American east coast, both of the present and ranging
through the past half-century, Gerald Dawe’s clear and unadorned voice —
in the words of Terence Brown — articulates ‘an imagination of European
scope’.
Copies of Selected Poems, which the author will be happy to sign, will
be available on the night (€12.50 paperback and €18.50 hardback)
