I have been trying to write a wedding poem. It's proven harder than you would expect.
There are a lot of wedding poems on Youtube. Some of the others are just terrible, most rhyme, some are funny, some are outrageous, some are sentimental (OK most are sentimental but that's OK)
This one above is far and away the best. It's called Long Distance Bike Ride by Andrea Hope
I also found a wedding poem generator, here. See mine. I really love it.
The Last Fizz of the Day
Your skin glows like the peach, blossoms merry as the violet in the purest hope of spring. My heart follows your cello voice and leaps like a wolf at the whisper of your name. The evening floats in on a great penguin wing. I am comforted by your coat that I carry into the twilight of sparkbeams and hold next to my arm. I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears of tonic. As my hand falls from my hat, it reminds me of your cavan. In the quiet, I listen for the last fizz of the day.
My heated ankle leaps to my scarf. I wait in the moonlight for your
secret flight so that we may walk as one, ankle to ankle, in search of
the magnificient blue and mystical lamp of love.
Mine's a bit gross... esp the bit about the hair follicles!!
Your skin glows like the banana, blossoms flowering as the daisy in the purest hope of spring. My heart follows your Tuba voice and leaps like a dog at the whisper of your name, Donal. The evening floats in on a great raven wing. I am comforted by your hat that I carry into the twilight of Glassbeams and hold next to my Inner Ear. I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears of mercury. As my hair follicles falls from my dressing gown, it reminds me of your ketchup. In the quiet, I listen for the last bark of the day. My heated knee leaps to my formal. I wait in the moonlight for your secret table so that we may running as one, knee to knee, in search of the magnificient purple and mystical bowl of love.
I have never been married (out of choice - have been asked) and indeed I find it disappointing that we still feel we need the institution at all. Despite this people are always asking me to write poems for their weddings... nice people so I never say no. For someone who is, in my heart, fairly anti-wedding I almost have enough for a damned collection!! I tend to just blank out the wedding part and write about the love in question and it seems to work out ok (so far). Though I did write a kind of anti-wedding poem once too (available on request...). Well, maybe more than one now I think about it... x

Made me laugh out loud until tears came on my train into work! Thanks for sharing.

I wrote a wedding poem once, but goodness it wasn't nearly as fabulous as these. As a penguin lover I especially love the first one - what a hoot!
Hi Rachel, I'd love to have a look at your wedding poems as I am struggling with mine.
Bug, you must give the automatic wedding poem generator.
Do you happen to have a copy of the long distant bike ride?? I can't seem to find it anywhere
