Based on a True Story

Great News. This Sunday coming, 6th September. Sunday Tribune. New Irish Writing. My story. The lovely Ciaran Carson (sorry I meant Carty) chose me.

Based on a true story a nice lady told me.

Do grab a copy of it to support the Tribune's initiative in continuing to allow an outlet for writer. Read it online if you're not in Ireland.

I hope you enjoy it. Link here for those who couldn't get a copy.

I met a town crier once, the town crier of Haye-on-Wye. He and his lovely wife run a B&B. He showed me his uniform.

I LOVED your story - thought it was very evocative and clever, with the inputs from teacher and main character. It made me feel very sad in parts and made me laugh out loud in others. Loved the use of the word 'disgusting' too.. good luck with it.

Haven't checked in here for a while and I log on and get this news - big congrats! I'm off to buy the Tribune. Great honour to be chosen by Ciaran Carson too, imo. (You seem to have this link to Belfast now, don't you?!)

Best,
Wendy

Well done Kate - enjoyed the story. Moving. The voice rang very true. Does that put you in the mix for the Hennessy (again)?

Do you mean Ciaran Carty?

Thanks. I have some very generous and discerning readers.

Yes, I meant Carty. Sorry Ciarans.

Wendy, if you don't have my email, drop me a comment with yours and I'll email you about the fabulous Diva Collective
